Will my hyperactive ragdoll kitten be a hyperactive cat?
I have a Ragdoll kitten and she is about 2 months old. She is my first kitten. I know kittens are supposed to have lots of energy but I was just wondering if she would calm down or maybe even become lazy as an adult? I just thought that the Ragdoll breed was a little lazy :P Either way I don't mind, just curious.
Well if you play with her and keep her fit she will stay active , but if you cuddle her heaps and keep her calm , then she is more likelly to become lazy

Spoilt cats are usually lazier , because they get what they want and dont have to work for it haha

I have a lazy cat and a explorer cat , they were both very energetic kittens , but now they laze around most of the day , but run around like crazy cats climbing trees and teasing the dog when theyre outside
I've had various cats since I was a child and usually they're very active as kittens and love to play, and they tend to calm down a bit as they get to a few years old. But then it can depend entirely on the cat and its breed. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Another thing that's guaranteed to change your cat is when they get spayed, they're generally calmer and more inclined for hugs than hunting. Well at least all my cats have been so far.

The most active time is at night usually and you want to avoid playing with her with your bare hands if you can, because when she gets bigger those scratches and bites will hurt a lot more. Get her a toy to love playing with, mine likes a fluffy bear on a string best to chase around the apartment.

Oh and for telling her off, the best trick is soft hiss, it's how her mother would tell her off, it really works too :)

At the moment I have a 10 month old ragdoll/maine coon cross, which should by all accounts be a soft fluffy gently giant - but those rules don't account for personality, she's loyal, curious and a crazy acrobat a lot of the time - she also avidly hunts shadows, feet and things that move - so bear in mind it's instinctual for them to hunt and having lots of toys for them to chase around is a good way to keep them happy.

At 10 months old I'm finding that my cat has what I like to call a mad half hour ever day, where nothing is safe as she shoots across the furniture and does circuits of the whole house in mad dash. It's so cute, but I do worry when she climbs up the door frame to the ceiling. So you've got that to look forward to soon too :p
