My cat keeps scratching my curtains and blinds and bedding. Anyway to stop her?
She is just under a month old, and we bought her a $100 cat climber thing (Including the tower, balls of fluff on strings etc.. and she barely uses it, she is more interested into the piece of wood we got her from the backyard.

Anyway, We tied up the curtains and laces to stop her from scratching, but now she is ruining the sofa, and when we try to stop her, she scratches us. I dont get scratched but she is hurting my kids and boyfriend.
Please help me control this crazy lil kitty
Charge $2.75 to her ATM card every time she does it. She'll get the hint. Or kill her.
Try your best to teach her now to do things by scolding. If you find a way do get her to love you a lot and bug you and not anything else, try it.Try a spray bottle for when she does something you don't like.
De-claw her front paws if she is an indoor cat. We always leave back claws on so the can itch themselves. If she is an outdoor or partial outdoor cat, don't get her de-clawed (no protection), see if she is interested in cardboard, they seem to like to tear these apart :)
yelling at the cat will not work, i would try cat nip it works great if u rub it all over the scratching post, try spraying her with water every time she scratches something u don't like and when she scratches what u do like give her a treat

Also, if the scratching post is unstable, she will not use it!!!! cats do not like feeling un balanced so make sure it is very sturdy and does not move when she goes on it

i own 2 cats, that were just like yours
Remember its well known that kittens are crazy, but from 14 weeks onwards you will notice her calming down.

For the time being I always find that being patient helps. If she scratches then remove her from the sofa/ curtains and put her on the floor with a firm ''No.'' You might have to do it twenty times but they get the message.

At just under a month old she never learnt from her brothers and sisters that scratching hurts either.
They make special sprays you can apply to your curtains bed etc. if you spray them onto those items the cats will avoid them due to the smell. OR you could simply fill a spray bottle (like the windex bottles or something else) with water and when you catch your cat doing these things spray them quickly with the water and unless your cat likes water I can almost grantee your cat will stop immediately I know all of this from experience
get her a scratching board
