How can I make sure my cat lives to be 25 years old?
Shes only one but i love her.
answer: I know what you mean- I have had my cat a little over a year and I want her to live forever.... anyway, from what I have read, to help your cat live a long life, the following things are essential:
Feed your cat a good diet. Food should not have any animal byproducts or corn.
Take your cat for a yearly vet checkup - not only for shots, but for a thorough physical exam. When your cat reaches 7 years old, take him/her twice a year.
Keep your cat indoors all the time.
You can't guarantee that. Even with the best possible care most cats don't live to be that old. However if you keep your cat inside, take her to the vet regularly, and feed her a high-quality diet there's a very good chance she will live into her teens and who knows, she may even reach 25.
You can't be sure of anything. Keep your kitty in doors. She doesn't need to be out doors for any reason. She can get all her entertainment looking out the windows and doors of your home. They can watch the birds, squirrels, chipmunks or anything else she finds interesting and fun to watch. She will stalk the birds, etc. from in doors instead of killing the birds while out doors. It's fun to watch them watch all the different creatures they spot. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
She will have a warm roof over her head, plenty to eat, and of course lots and lots of loving from you.
They don't ask a lot from us. They just want to be loved and taken care of.
Our kitty lived to be 25 years old. We didn't do anything special. She was our best friend, cared for and loved. We will always have our memories. They never go away.
Buy good quality food for her...dry and wet..
make sure she has fresh water every day
If she goes outside, have her on a leash and in a fenced yard. (a cat's life is dramtically shortened when freely being outside to roam..cars etc)
give her lots of love, buy her toys ..
have her spayed or netured
have her vet checked and shots done
Nobody can guarantee your cat will make it to 25, but with a good diet, proper veterinary care, and overall good care, your cat can live many years.
Feed a proper diet (grain free canned or raw) vet care, keep her indoors and overall proper care. No one can guarantee your cat will live that long.
My cat is 21.
