Help, my cat is driving me mad ?
This has been going on for two weeks now. Every night without fail my cat wakes me up in the middle of the night by scratching at the window to go outside (im in a ground floor flat) I let him out because hes woken me up doing this and i wont be able to sleep while hes doing this. Then a couple hours later, he will sit outside the window meowing to come in, again this wakes me up and i cant ignore it cause i cant sleep. He is driving me mad. he does'nt go outside all day he sleeps all day he is fed at 8am and 5pm thats it, I make him go toilet about and hour or two before I go bed so he doesnt do it, but he still does. he wont use a litterbox he hates them, i cant shut him out the bedroom or he'll scratch at the door and wake me up, like i cant find a way around this. help please
Sounds like you need to adjust his schedule for one and like a child, if you reward an unwanted behaviour they will expect it all the time. 1 do not allow it but to help make it more bearable on you change the schedule. Tomorrow (if possible) wake up and keep your cat awake as much as possible by playing with him and if you see him/her go to sleep wake them up. Spend 2 days in a row keeping your cat awake as much as possible. (Only allow a hour here and hour there.) Let your cat out or put him outside during the day. Feed small amount in the morning and after long play an hour before you go to bed feed your cat a big bowl of food. The staying awake all day, using mass energy, releiving oneself during the day, and a large dinner(full belly = sleepy). After a couple days his routine will be play during the day and sllep at night.

my cat is let out during the day so he won't be so energetic during the night, as cats are more awake and are in "hunting mode" when the sun goes down.
if your cat does something like continually going in and out mayb install a cat flap or something. when my cat disobeys me i often spray my cat with a bit of water. it snaps him out of being so naughty. if he wants to come in and you don't want him in plus you want to stop him from meowing i suggest once he is outside put some citrus peelings around your window. as cats don't like citrus smells as it blocks them from smelling things which, annoy them.
goodluck!!
