Nope, dont waste your money. A lot of these over the counter flea preventions, are gimmicks. They use harsh chemicals, that shouldnt even be near your cat anyway, and they dont do anything at all. Not only are they worthless, they can actually end up making your cat very sick. Go to a vet, and buy some Frontline or Advantage, it is more expensive, but thats because it actually WORKS.
Only on the neck. The fleas will run to the back of the tail. lol. Don't waste your money. Walk into a vets office and ask for a tube of Advantage for your cat. It is sold by weight and costs about $ 12 a tube. If you have a cat that goes outdoors the application will last as long as 2 months. If an indoor cat only you will only need to apply it 2 or 3 times a years. Over the counter flea meds have caused seizures and death to cats.
*** OOPS I DIDN'T MEAN TO THUMBS DOWN "BRIHANA'S" COMMENT (ABOVE) - ADVANTAGE & FRONTLINE ARE GOOD, I MEANT TO HIT THE "LIKE" BUTTON !***
yeah, a little ......( better than nothing) - will keep your house from a major flea outbreak, but cat will prob. have a few here & there ...... if cat is hyper-sensitive to fleas (scabs/scores etc) one little flea could do a lot of damage
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com quick warning ...... stay away from "hartz" flea medicines, espec. the drops that go between the shoulder blades (it can kill them; lotta cases of this over the yrs)
flea coller + flea comb ...... brush cat every day (they luuuuvvvv those combs) - this will prevent flea catastrophe
teyo do work but not as efficiently as drops.
i suggest going with brand names or ones ur vet recommends, those cheapy generics at groceries stores ... arecrappy, no doubt on that.
keep in mind too if u have a long hair breed dog with multiple layers, u might wanna just stick with the drops where u can place between the hairs on the neck. cause with a collar .. all that layers is just gonna block the contact of the skin n render the collar useless ... (unless it's that new gas type), cuz the collar NEEDS to be incontact with ur dogs skin so the chmical can be absorbed. so that way when the flea bites him it should die.
No, they usually don't at all. Either get advantage from your vet or go to a pet store and see if you can find frontline.
No, plain and simple.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com My dog had to wear one a year ago, and all it did was cause a rash.
