I'm trying to figure out why? How do I stop her?
Take her to the vet to make sure she doesn't have a urinary tract infection. Make sure her litter box is scrupulously clean. In fact, two litter boxes might not be a bad idea. Cats like their boxes to be nice and big, but not covered. Petsmart sells a litter called Cat Attract that's supposed to be irresistible to cats.
Get some enzyme cleaner like Simple Solution or Nature's Miracle (sold in pet stores) and treat everything she's urinated on with it. It will help prevent her from re-marking that spot.
Get some Feliway plug-in diffusers, and if that doesn't work, provide her with an extra litter box with flat sections of newspaper in the bottom.
Good luck to you. I hope you can get her back to using the litter box.
We have a cat here in our home who suddenly started to urinate in unusual places. A little research yielded that she was reacting to the presence of squirrels who were highly visible outside our window and patio doors. It also didn't help that the squirrels were invading our house a bit inside the roof area. We stopped putting out bird food, or anything else the squirrel would eat in view of our home and our cat. It seems the cat was threatened by the presence of the squirrels. The other posts here seem to address some problems, but this answer may be something you can consider. If you added another pet to your home, this may have the same negative effect as our squirrel intruder. Good Luck.
Well its either behavior or she's ill. You want to rule out illness before assuming its behavioral. Take her to the vet, and they can do a urinalysis to rule out infection or stones. Urinary Tract Infections are very common in cats. You called it "she" so its good that shes a female, because male cats can become blocked if left untreated. If you notice a bad odor to it, or blood, then theres a good chance she has something wrong and may need antibiotics. Please take her to the vet ASAP so this doesn't get worse. And they will be able to tell you if it may be behavioral.
if there is a smell that she dosen't like, she will try to cover it up with her own scent. Or if she is mad at you at night she will pee on you out of spite. But mostly it is probably because of weird smells. like sweat. . or whatever. my cats do the same thing.
if she is'nt spayed thats way she's doing that she's marking her scent and let me tell u now the smell never goes away so get her fixed before its to late i had to give mine up because of it now im the bad guy so get her fixed there are shelters around with reduced fixing fee if ur on any state assistance. good luck!
She could be doing this out of spite. Maybe she's left alone , or maybe she feels neglected. Try calling a Vet to ask if this sudden behavior is normal.
