How to convince my parents to let me get another cat (weird

I had a cat before and he was nice but then when we moved to NM from Texas he ran away to go back home. So, I saw kitten on craigslist that is free and already spayed and I think she has her shots. She would learn to be outdoors and have the shelter of our porch with food and water out there and maybe a small dog house for shelter in rain/snow.

Our one problem is, I have a bird too. I know that this is not a problem for her eating it because the cat would never be indoors but I don't really take care of my bird. I feed and water her and clean her cage so I do take care of her, it's just that she doesnt like to come out of her cage. So I do take care of her, but I'm afraid my parents would say I'm not and say I wouldn't take care of the kitten either. What should I do about this? I really don't want to get rid of my bird (it would cause family problems, but that is not the only reason) and I also would really enjoy another kitten. I 'm homeschooled and it would give me something to do (training). I would buy food/litter with my allowance or my parents would buy it for me. Any tips or things to say would be great! Thanks!
You would let a kitten live outside? Then don't get a kitten or a cat. If you just put the kitten outside when you get it guess what it will not stay around and may end up dead. Do you think the kitten will run up to you when it sees you, think again.

RP CAT
Print out a page on information on the cat, tell your parents you miss your old cat. Help around the house, stuf like that!:)
Cats live longer indoors.
