If I am permitted to take pictures of all the cats (there are 23 of them) how will I get their names without being a pest to the workers? They do not have animal information sheets up, they have all the names and information sheets in a folder in a file cabinet and I find that very inefficient but that is there way of doing it.
So, should I put the picture of the animal on pet finder and label it "Ihavenoname" or should I make up an name or what? I don't want to go "What is # 1's name, What is # 2's name What is # 3's name? "and have them go though how ever many files to find their names and information.
I need to talk to the manager how I am going to post them on Petfinder but at the same time I don't want to be nuisance by asking every 2 minutes what their names are - the basic information such as their color and other features would be a bit easier but I would have to examine their teeth for age and their backsides for gender ... I just have no idea how to undertake this at all without the information sheets.

I'd take the pictures first. Print them up and show them to some of your co-workers. They may just automatically say something like 'Oh, thats a nice picture of Ginger, doesn't his coat look shiney. 'etc. In which case you get the answers to 2 of your questions without even asking.
Otherwise, just show 2 or 3 pictures to each of your colleagues and spread the questions around. You might find that someone will quite happily sit down with you, when having a tea/coffee, and answer any questions you have.
Already having the pictures will prevent confusion about which cat you are talking about or receiving information on. Just write what you find out on the reverse of the picture so that you don't become confused later on when putting the information on Pet Finder.
You might also want to suggest to the Manager that a copy of each of the prints might be a good idea to have in the cat files, like having a 'mug shot' attached to the individuals paperwork. Suggest that you would be willing to provide the prints and update the files. This would allow you to check them at the same time for the cats age, history etc. A copy of the Pet Finder Advert attached to each wouldn't do any harm either. Be persuasive and ensure she/he understands that you would be willing to undertake the additional work involved. If it isn't costing them any more in time/money then I doubt they would have an objection.
