embarrassing cat odor?

so today my mom tells me about my sister going to school and opening her bag at the lunch table and how everyone said it smelled like a cat and pointed to my sister of the bad smell. i have a one year old or less cat not spayed YET. We have tried everything, incents, bleach ammonia, fabuloso, mr clean burning oils, air freshener and air wick that sprays every 9 minutes. The smell is still here the basement smells like complete cat piss and we have a closed litter box with crystalized cat litter.one cat NO RESOLUTION FOR THE SMELL my mom says if it continues after hes nuetured hes gotta go.
Even though a cat is neutered or not some are just more prone to marking their territory regularly than others. If there are other animals in the house this is more common. Male cats tend to do this more often as well.

The ammonia from their urine is also fueled by a secretion gland that adds more oder to intensify the smell when a cat is stressed or feels threatened. There are products out there that are specifically for counteracting this smell. Simply trying to cover up the smell with air fresheners is not going to resolve your issue here. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

My advice is go to your local pet supply store, not the supermarket, or walmart, but a store dedicated to pet supplies and ask them what product you need and be specific that it is for a cat. They should have what you need.

Good luck, hope this helps.
Hello Alex,

Too bad for your sister. I'm sure she felt bad.

If it is a male cat .. the fact that it has not been "fixed" is the issue. Male cats spray and the smell is HORRENDOUS. It does go away gradually after the cat is fixed. My male cat is 3 years old and I got him fixed at about 10 months RIGHT after the first time I smelled it. About two months later the spray smell was completely gone. If he sprays on a blanket or anything like that you will never get the smell out. Once you fix him, throw out the litter box and start with a new one.
Well make sure you're cleaning his litter regularly first of all. We have this spray you spray directly onto your cats litter called NODOR by hartz. It works and I think you can get it at any petstore.
