This morning I sadly found my 15 year old cat dead. I think she passed away from old age. I am taking her later to the vets to be cremated and I would like to find an inexpensive cat urn. I would love to use some of her ashes and have them put into a tattoo. But i have heard that isn't safe. Well if anyone knows hwere I can find pet urns, or has any other unique ideas, please let me know=[
My sympathy to you on your loss. I went through this a year ago. You can do a search online for pet urns. Ask your vet if they have any catalogs (they probably do) that you can take home and look through to get a urn. Your vet can order it for you. Your vet will be able to transfer the remains to the urn. I received the remains back in a beautiful box when my vet schedule the cremation, but I ordered a cloissone vase which my vet's assistant transferred the remains ( they will probably come in a bag). You don't want to force the remains so the urn has to have a large enough opening. Check how it is sealed, too. You will find the one that will be a lasting memory for your cat. Don't buy anything until you see what the vet gives you the ashes in. Most of the time, it's not bad. Our local emergency clinic gives you the cheapest, crappiest-looking tin imaginable, but that's the exception. I bought a nice wooden container with a slot on the front for a photo from Pet Edge. Why not have some of her ashes placed into a small vial like angelina jolie had and then you could hang it from a chain round your neck or maybe have the ashes made into a diamond and then made into a ring
