I have a 7month old male cat and a person wanted to know if I'd be interested in boarding her two one and a half year old male cats for 2 weeks while she is on vacation. He has grown up last couple of months with just me here and before that, he was in the shelter. How might he react with 2 other males in the territory. Is this a good idea? Your advise please .. thank you ..
He probably wouldn't like it, and he would be outnumbered. If he's not neutered yet (and he should be) it could set off a spraying habit. Introducing cats can be tricky, so personally I wouldn't subject my cat to the stress. If your cat IS fixed, and you really want to help your friend out, go ahead and watch them, but keep them separated from your cat.
Boarding is usually $ 10 a night per cat.
I petsit a lot ... and usually cats stay at their own house and you go over there to feed them and clean their boxes. Cats don't do well outside of their home and it takes weeks to introduce new cats so they probably wouldn't get along. That situation sounds like it would much too stressful not only to your cat but also to your friend's. The normal boarding fee is between $ 15-20 a night per cat . The first clinic I worked at was $ 20, the second one started at $ 15 but has raised prices to $ 17 a night since I've been there. What I normally charge to go feed cats is $ 15 a visit. So twice a day=$ 30 and 3 times a day=$ 45.
I wouldn't do it. My male cat bit my female cat about a week ago. She has a nasty wound on her hip now. I took her into the vet yesterday and it cost me $ 150 to have it lanced and flushed. She is on antibiotics now. She had a fever too. When cats fight, it's not good.
