On the way to school yesterday I saw a dead cat: '((on the path) I think he had been run over by accident and the person who did it put him on the path. It really upset me he was wet and dirty because of the rain. At the time I couldn't do anything because I had to get to school. It was on my mind all day cause I wanted to help the poor cat so when I got home I sent an email to the council to come and collect him. Today I went to school as normal but he was still there: (: (one again I had to carry on to get to school on time and I was going to call the council after school to see why they didn't come, but on the way back from school he was gone so the council must of come and got him. It really upset me and I keep crying about it becasue I have a cat myself. I also feel bad like I should of done something sooner but I couldn't mess with him or anything becasue of diseases so do you think I did the right thing?
You absolutely did the right thing. Don't be so hard on yourself.
It sounds like you're pretty traumatized by the whole thing, and I'm very sorry that it happened. It may take a little while for the images of the kitty lying there to fade, but they will. And you can find solace in the fact that the kitty didn't lie there any longer than he had to, because you did your best for him.
Yes, you did the right thing. You're absolutely right about not touching the cat because any dead animal is a breeding ground for bacteria. The most you could safely do is alert the proper authorities/organization to "dispose" of it properly. I hope your cat is an indoor cat, so that nothing will happen to him/her.
I was at the bus stop when I was 12 and saw a cat get hit by a car. I know how you feel. Yes, calling the proper authorities to take care of it was the right thing to do. Just remember, it was dead, so there was nothing you could do to save it. You should have no regrets.
Yes you did everything right.

It is dangerous to do something with dead cat without any special measures, you may catch the infection.
I have done the very same thing myself.
Yes, you did the right thing.
You did what you could for the cat and you did the right thing.
Yes you did the right thing. Thank you for being a caring person.

Yes You Did The Right Thing Because The Cat Couldve Been A Huge A Health Hazord
Yes, you did the right thing.
Of course you did the right thing, you could do no more than you did so don't feel bad for doing right by this cat, you couldn't touch obviously or you would have caught something, but you did the one thing others didn't do and that is not pass you called for help,
of course he was on your mind all day your human with feelings, and having a cat of your own just makes seeing this cat all the more upsetting, but he has now been collected which is better or he could have got eaten by a dog and that would have been a lot worse for you to see,

so yes you 100% did the right thing so try not to feel bad for doing good.
You did exactly the right thing. The cat himself was gone with only his body, like an empty shell, left behind. You were right not to handle the body because of the large amount of bacteria present breaking it down. It was a health hazard and I'm glad the council did finally remove the body and put it in the proper place. I'm sorry you had to see him up close like that. If your cat is safely indoors it is unlikely you'll ever see him in the street like that.
