Yes. We had an 18yr old Siamese and a 2yr old Silver Tabby. When our Siamese passed away they had just become best friends and were never apart. He thought she was just missing for a few days and would go around looking for her. When it hit him that she was gone he went into a deep depression, he barely ate and slept all day or layed in their old spot. After a while he recovered and we got another cat. Now is as happy as ever:)

I brought my cat in to be a house cat at 5 weeks, when his mother got killed. My house dog immediately took to him and raised him like his baby.
When my cat was 6, my house dog died. My cat got depressed. Anytime I say my house dogs name, now 2 years later, he still jumps up and starts seaching the house.
They remember. They grieve.
Yes, definitely! We have a siamese female (6 yrs old now) who got spayed first. Then the tabby kitten had to get spayed, the procedure was done late in the day so she had to stay over night. We'd always thought the 2 were mortal enemies, but while she was gone, the siamese moped around, didn't eat. But when the pet carrier was brought in the next morning, she came RUNNING to greet her.
