I have a litter of 4 week old kittens. All of them but one seem to be doing really well and getting better, but one. This one is very small and is not getting any bigger. It keeps trying to wonder out of the closet and crying all the time. Is it getting enough to eat or should I start giving it replacement milk? Help not sure what to do.
My cat had 7 kittens and right away we knew we'd have to suppliment with kitten formula. Don't feed it cow milk, make sure you get kitten formula. You can pick it up at the pet store or even Walmart. Also purchase the milk bottles that come with it. Cut a X on the top and be patient. It doesn 't feel like mom's teets so you'll have to train her to get used to it. The fact that she is crying all the time and not growing is a huge sign that the other's are bigger and stronger and pushing her away from mother's milk . Intervene now before she gets anemic or ill. Try to suppliment at least 3-4 times a day. Give you mom a bowl of this milk too since it is high in all the nutrients she needs to create enough milk for the babies. Good luck!

How many kittens are in the litter? If there are more than six, it's possible that there aren't enough ... err, "'bottles" to go around, so maybe it isn't getting enough to eat.
Go ahead with the replacement milk as quickly as possible. I've had kittens act like that before in litters of 7 + and two have died.):
You should let the others eat and give that cat a special meal with a little extra.
start giving it some KMR. That one is the most recommended
my all means supplement momma cats milk
