I just got a Kitten. My brother says that it is a Teacup Kitten.
Its a little bigger than my both my hands up together but, i still don't know what it is.
Can you help me
Tea cup cats are nothing more than cats that have been selectively inbred to get a smaller sized cat. There are claims that they are healthier than other breeds, but I still remain un-optimistic.
I agree with this statement, as we have seen so much of it in the "Dog" world, which is why I say I don't believe it is a healthy thing to breed for, and is not in the best interest of the animal.

"Teacup" Pot Bellied Pigs are something even worse. These poor pigs have bodies which stop growing at a point, but their insides continue to grow. Thus causing immense pain and discomfort, and eventually resulting in an early death. Never support anyone selling "Teacup" pets! "

As long as she or he is developing normally, all this means (as the other person said) is that your kitten is just unusually small. He or she may have been the runt of the litter. don't worry, even runt kittens can grow up to be perfectly healthy cats. Good luck sweetie.
Teacup is a reference to "as small as it gets". For dogs 5 pounds or less (fully grown) is considered a teacup. You have a kitten ... it's not fully grown. I suspect it was the runt of the litter but it may still develop into a normal size cat.
Never heard of a teacup kitten . probably just a kitten and someone put a fancy name on it. Hope he didnt purchase it:-D have fun with your new kitty!!!
Teacup any breed (dog or cat) is a very poor unhealthy runt with lots of genetic problems.
It is nothing more than relating to the size. It means that it can fit in a teacup,
A kitten small enough to fit into a teacup so basically very tiny.
A kitten that can actually fit its body in a coffee or tea like cup.
It's a kitten that fits in a teacup. We tend to drink it.
