"Work" there? People at the SPCA are VOLUNTEERS. If you're looking for a paid position unless you're the manager of the shelter or an animal care officer I highly doubt ANYONE gets paid.
If you want to volunteer just go there and inquire about what positions are available.
You can ask what your duties will be when you go for an interview. You may want to volunteer for a week or so to determine if you will like this work.
