Please, I need some advice, concerning these cats!?

Ok I'll try to make it quick. I went to visit some family in Europe, and noticed they had a few cats/kittens. I tried to give them away, and failed every single time. Now I can bring them back to the US with me, but I called one no kill shelter in my area, and they said that because the cats are from Europe they can't accept them. Now my relatives here dislike and neglect cats. One relative is quite sadistic toward them, so if I leave the cats here, I'm assigning them to a horrible future. If I leave them on the street somewhere, they can die of hunger, other predators, dogs, cats. I don't know what to do. I am completely lost. I feel like if I don't bring those cats with me, I will suffer tremendous guilt for the rest of my life. I know it's weird, but that's just the way I think. What do I do? Please help. Oh and to add even more complication to this story, I would gladly keep the cats until some shelter offered up to take them, but I have no other place to live but with my mom, and she said there is no way I can keep the cats in the house .... I have no friends in the area, and all my relatives refuse to take them in ...
Bless you for taking this into your hands! pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Do NOT resort to leaving them on the street. They will most likely die or become injured.

Here's my advice: Although you've tried to give them away already, you must continue. Put up posters. Call newspapers. Do what you must. Someone will want them and may take all of them.

Try other shelters, also, if that tactic seems to fail. Is it just that specific shelter's policy that neglects bringing in foreign cats? If you are definitely stuck with them, a little driving and some research on the internet could be a huge help. You could make negotiations with your mother (keeping them in the basement, in YOUR room, saying you'd take care of them 24/7 ... etc.)

The best of luck to you!!
Europe does have their own animal shelters you know. Plus you can't really bring them back with you without spending thousands of dollars as they will have to be in quarantine at a vet clinic for 6 months. If you are in London take them to the Battersea Animal shelter ... it's awesome and pretty sure it's no kill. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Also I volunteer at a shelter ... and due to limited space and the vast area they have to take care of, shelters can not take in any animals from any other area other than the area they serve. While I commend you for trying to take on these cats it is immensly unfair of you to expect shelters in the states to try and deal with not only the pet overpopulation here but also the one in other countries. Do not lie to them and tell them they are from your area as you taking those cats to a shelter in the states will mean death to cats that actually live in that area and the shelter could have helped had you not brought home a bunch of cats from another country. take the cats to a shelter there.
Your area shelter is probably full to beyond capacity, and are not too thrilled with the idea of cats from Europe, and not because there are any health issues.

But use petfinder to locate rescue groups in your area, and give them a call. No need to give them a European background. A cat does not come with a tag around them specifying their nationality. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Offering them a contribution may help ease the way to accepting them.

It is nice that you are caring.
Put an ad in the newspapers, the internet. Call vets on the yellow pages, all of them, dozens of them. That's the only way to get something done is to call many, many vets. i've known some vets to take in strays and find them homes. call other shelters and they might let the cats in. don't take no for an answer just because ONE shelter refuses to take them.

i'm sure you'll find something if you won't stop and go on and on ...

thank you for trying to help those cats. the world needs more people like you.
