Outdoor cat gives household cat a cold?

I recently got another cat. She was an outdoor cat but I brought her in. Shes a kitten about 3-4 months old. I have one cat already, hes always been a house cat, hes neutered & regularly flead. Very healthy cat usually, but now since the new kitten has came in, my other indoor cat is acting as though hes sick. Any suggestions as to why this would occur? Could the outdoor kitten have given something to my indoor cat?
Cats can carry the herpes virus for life. It's possible the outdoor cat is a carrier and your older cat caught it from her. Make sure she continues to eat. If the symptoms don't go away within a week or so, call your vet. If your indoor cat exhibits other symptoms - stops eating or has colorful discharge from the eyes or snotty sneezes, etc, call you vet. Sometimes a secondary bacterial infection sets in and you'll need antibiotics in that case.
Is your cat vaccinated? "Colds" are called upper respiratory infections (URIs) in cats and they are typically caused by one of two viruses that your cat should be vaccinated against. In any case, URIs are serious. You should bring your cat to the vet before he gets worse.
