Male cats vs. Female - scratching?

I am looking into getting a kitten very, very soon.

The breeder I know has only male kittens left.

My question is, are male cats more territorial than female cats?

Like, do they scratch up the furniture more than females?

Which gender, from your experience, is easier to train?
Spaying/neutering prior to puberty neutralizes most big gender differences as far as behavior. Intact adult males have a tendency to roam and they also spray and may become territorial if there are other males around. Those issues aside, in my personal experience I've found that males generally tend to be more affectionate and calm (there are definitely exceptions of course).

Regardless of gender you are going to need to work on training them to use a scratching post. Trimming their nails regularly is also a good idea - the younger you get them used to that, the better.
Male cats are easier to train and nicer. I have a male gray cat that's nice as ever. And never ran away. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Female cats are more territorial and mean. I've had 2 female ran away, and I'm happy that I don't have them anymore.

And if you have a dog, get a kitten, so that the kitten will grow up with your dog, and be used to the dog, and not have to hiss at him/her. Good luck!
I don't believe either of them necessarily scratch more then the other. Males always seem to be more dominate but I think it just depends on the cats personality and abilities to learn.
