Today I found a tick on my cat's cheek by her ear. I was trying to take out, but she was throwing a fit. She was growling, hissing, and scratching. I've noticed lately that she has some black wax all in her ear and it looked a little red. She also shakes her head whenever I touch that ear. When I touched it today, she pinned it down and was real mad. So I haven't been able to take the tick out due to her ear . I read I can use apple cider vinegar. Does that work? Any other suggestions?
Take her to the vet ... They can get the tick out and check the ear drum and canal for infection.
No it DOESN'T. Get her to the VET. The vet can check the ear out and if give the appropriate, SAFE treatment. Apple cider vinegar DILUTED can SOMETIMES work for certain fungal infections but black wax sounds more like ear mites. And ticks as well ? Geezus get this poor cat on Revolution from the vet. And keep her INDOORS so this doesn't happen again.
I find it very sad that you would take home treatment advice from strangers on the internet when it comes to the health of your cat. No one on here can diagnose what's going on with your cat's ears.
