Can i be evicted for having a service therapy indoor cat?
I never heard of a service cat. What does it do? was it ordered by a Dr.? Does it have special training? If you can prove it is a service cat they cannot evict you or charge you and fees.
Depends on what your lease says. If it says no pets allowed, then your landlord may tell you to get rid of the cat. If you ask them before you get the cat, and you ask nicely and pay the proper deposit, then they might let you have one. A letter from a physician saying it's beneficial to you might help.
Good luck.
It should be protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act. If they try to evict you then call your local ACLU & local Humane Society. You will have to make sure that the cat is a service therapy cat & not just a pet.
