Why won't my cat stop "purring" or w/e its called?
Not sure what it's called in english but you know it's when they make that sound and become affectionate. How do I make him stop? I'm trying to sleep but he won't stop making that sound! I've tried "yelling" at him but nothing works!

That's what cats do. I think it's a rather soothing sound, but if it disturbs you, buy some earplugs.
Goof bal! He is happy. He will stop when he goes to sleep. If you can't wait that long, put him out of your room.

You obviously don't know anything about cats. The cat purrs because it is happy. Get some ear plugs if it bothers you that much or give it to a responsible person who will enjoy it and treat it well.
Is it the loud merrrowww type of sound? The reason they do that is because cats are nocturnal and theres not much you can do, but you can try and put him/her in a kennel. Also try putting him/her in bed with you to see if the cat wants to just get cuddly. Thats all I can tell you and seems to work well with my cat.

Ahh! I've been there! Many years ago I had a kitten that would snuggle up under my chin & start purring. He wouldn't stay anywhere else on the bed & always moved right under my chin. I think cats only stop purring when they fall asleep. I had to put kitty in kitchen at night so I could get to sleep.

Cats also purr when they're frightened or hungry so (or at least mines does) so watch out for those signs too.
The best thing I can tell you is to get your kitty a special buddy tht he can spend more of his time w/ , & get him a play house, kitty toys, etc so his attention can be elsewhere.
But you do sound kinda stubborn , anytime you dnt want a cat to purr, so your better off really not having one.

Are you able to take your cat into another room that way you can sleep?
You can't stop a cat from purring its just something they do.
It's just breathing most cats pur when they are happy and to calm it is to live with it

And plus it's breathing and if it makes unnatural bodies call your local vet ASAP
