Does my cat sound depressed?
She is an indoor cat, almost 10 years old. Normally she just stays in her cage, because she really hates our youngest cat. Well today, she just seems extremely down. She also barely ate. She is just staying in her cage. When I talk to her, she looks up slowly, but she doesn't seem happy at all.

Do you think she is just depressed, or what?

Thanks!
sounds like cat is sick. TAKE CAT TO VET!
It sounds to me like your cat is really sick. At the very least, you should take her to the vet and get her checked out before assuming that it's psychological. Even if it is, the vet may be able to give her something for depression. Don't delay - bring her in tomorrow!

Good luck to you both.
She sounds sick. I would bring her in to see a vet ASAP, she might need some bloodwork or urinalysis done to find answers. Kitties are considered seniors at that age and they can have organ changes by then (or of course eat something she shouldn't to make her sick) and may require medications to help her heal or correct a condition.

She could be depressed. Or maybe she's in pain or something, I'm assuming that as cats gets older that like humans, their bodies start to hurt. Maybe you could have seperate areas for the two cats if they're not getting along to try and cheer her up. Like have one part of the house for one cat (Seperated with closed doors or something) and the other part for the other cat. Or if that doesn't cheer her up then go see a vet or something to see what's going on. It could help to maybe give more affection if she seems to want it too :) Good luck with your cat.
