My cat is only one year old and already has a roll of fat on his tommy. I've tried to give him less food but he eats it all when i give it to him. i give him about only one cup a day( half in the morning and half at nigh). I've been feeding him purina but that hasn't seem to be doing anything. what is a healthy food for him that is also inexpensive?????

WOW thats a lot of food per day. My vet told me that an adult cat can live on 1/2 cup of food per day. I divide it up into 3 meals a day. I had been feeding my 3 year old 3/4-1 cup per day and he got overweight. When I cut him back to 1/2 cup a day he lost some weight and is now a happy healthy 10 pound kitteh.

There is diet control cat food. I would suggest feeding it less if possible but ween the thing down on food so it doesnt go hungry.
