Is my cat happy ??????
I recently saved a kitten from being put down by adopting him from the girl who was about to get it done. Anyway I love my cat so much but now I don't know if he's happy because whenever he gets attention my daschund gets very jelous and would start chasing him. I had a serious conversation with my cat (he usually responds when I talk by meeowing) but lately he's been very withdrawn, do you think I should do something about the dog situation? I love both equally but I want them both to be happy...
answer: your cat is probably demeaned by the fact that you meow to it ...just saying
Keep your animals in 2 separate rooms. Just for one day. Just for one hour. Go in one room and let your kitten. Rub him nice and good, showing signs of major affection. Then go to your dog and do the same, letting him sniff your cat rubbings. Return to the cat so she can smell the puppy. Bring them together calmly and pet each equally. One for a minute, then the other. Give em equal amounts of attention after this procedure.
Teach your dog the correct hierarchy in your house, either by getting advice from a trainer or reading up on it. You pick who gets the attention, not our dog. the sooner he learns that, the happier you'll all be.
You could separate the dog and cat by making an outside pen or letting them take turns of the rule in the house.
try giving them equal attention and if your dog seems sad then try petting him a little more.
you should train your dog to stop chasing your cat...get a professional trainer to come in.
