Cats: My cat just got spayed and now I cannot find her anywhere, HELP?
I never let her outside of the house .. Except when she's going to the vet .. and we've just spayed her and now I cannot find her anywhere. I'm going insane .. The last time anyone has seen her was 3 hours ago and we live in a tiny apartment that isn't crowded.

Do cats get confused and run away after being spayed?
Help please!!!! She's my baby.

She is hiding and sleeping off the anesthesia, she will come out when she wakes up. Have water for her in her usual place. It's good for her to be quiet and sleep ...

Cats have a natural instinct to go and hide somewhere dark when they are in pain or ill.

You should try and find her in case she licks the stitches off and to check on her.

I would try her favourite hidy holes, like under the bed, inside large boxes, inside the wardrobe, under the sink, behind the couch. If my cats are hiding, they will be under the bed, behind a suitcase, or sometimes inside the wardrobe inside a box of clothes or shoes.

Good luck!

PS: You can always try coaxing her out with food noises, like a tin opener (if you use one) or the rustling of the food package. Works for mine everytime, just like the clink-clink of the dry food falling into the bowl.

I no this isn't what your going to want to hear but my cat ran away after we had her spayed. We got her spayed because when she got out when she was still quite young she got pregnant and when she had her babies she killed them so it was the only option for me, i wouldn't risk that happening again! She got out about 5days after and never came home, i was devestated.
I would check all over your apartment and check she isn't hiding anywere, even check your washing basket, that were my cat liked to hide. If you can't find her indoors leave a small window open for her to come back when she's ready, leave some staong smelling food out for her near the open window and hopefully she'll come back at her own time.
If she has ran away im very sorry, i no how horrible it is. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Good luck with getting her back.

Cats hide when they don 't feel well .... getting spayed can do that. If you're sure she's in your apartment, check in small places you'd think she wouldn't fit into .... such as under furniture. I have a sofa with 4 "legs .... guess what, my cats nap under there ... even cats you'd think are way to big to get under there ... also check in your kitchen and bathroom cabinets ... I cant tell you how many times I've opened a cabinet to find a cat hiding in there with the plunger and cleaning supplies .... they are very dextrous at pulling the door open enough to get in when they want to hide. Do you have a closet with a water heater in it? Check behind that .... I've had cats hide back there. They're also good at getting on the shelves at the top of the closet as well and nesting behind the clothes, etc . It's amazing what they can wedge themselves into if they're of a mind to.

Open a can of her favorite food, and chances are she'll come out for a nosh.

As long as you are sure she can't get outside then don't worry about it. She is hiding somewhere dark for a while. She feels weird, maybe a bit sore from the surgery and disoriented from the drugs. When she is hungry you will see her again.

My 3 cats.

Don't worry, she ' ll probably be close by. She'll be a bit angry but she'll soon forget that when she's hungry:)

Cat owner!

She is mad and hiding because she did not like what you did to her and she is afraid you will do it again.

put a plate of tinned tuna down and she will soon come out of hiding,
