I need help figuring out what kind of cat I have.?
My younger brother brought this sweet kitten a few months back and lately I have been curious as to what breed he is. He has a lot of the features of a Maine coon but he is extremely soft fur, softer than a rabbits. He is a little small but I am sure he isn't done growing either. He has a small white diamond mark on his nose, white paws and the rest of his fur is kind of a mix of black and tan with black stripes.

Brown tabby and white domestic longhair. Kitten coats are different from an adult coat.
Did he buy her from a breeder and pay $ 600 or more for her? No, or you wouldn't be asking this . Kittens of particular breeds don't just 'happen ". They only come from the mating of pedigreed cat to pedigreed cat of the same breed. Your kitten is simply a domestic - a cat of no particular breed just like over 97% of the cats on this entire planet.
Cats were domesticated thousands of years ago and breeds only established in the last hundred or so years. So most cats have NO breeds whatsoever in their history. Add to that the fact breeders tend to sell their kittens altered and never allow crossbreeding so you just don't end up with "mixes" like so many people incorrectly think.
Maine Coon are large cats, my mother had one that was over 20 pounds. He sounds like an grey/black tabby stripe with something else mixed in. He is not a pure bread cat I would not imagine. I think he is just a lucky cat to be safe and loved. post a pic if you have one. That will give readers a much better chance of helping you identify the guy.
Odds are it's just a domestic long hair.

If the cat was not gotten from a breeder, then there's a good chance it's simply a mutt.
The colours of a cat rarely dictate its breed, too. Certain breeds will have specific sets of colours, but for others, it's basically anything goes.
I might suggest looking up ragdoll cats as well, though.
im a ten year old cat expert and i think its a tabby
