My Mommy cat had kittens and we just got rid of them to a good home. She is in heat and she is swollen with milk. she looks uncompfortable and they are very had. Should i be doing somthing?

If the kittens were weaned properly the mother cat should have dried up well before the kittens left. She NEEDS to get that milk out or it will get hard and cause an infection that could kill her.

Call your local vet or shelter and see if there are any kittens in need of a foster mom.

One really AWESOME thing you could do is go to your local kill shelter and foster some newborns that are orphaned and let them feed off of her.

This will relieve one more minute of soreness from her, and save some kitties 'lives if they don't otherwise find a foster.

It' really is a great idea ! I would highly consider it, maybe go tomorrow or this evening if still open to your local kill shelter and pick up 4-6 kittens to foster.

Kittens need to be with mama (or fill-in mama) for 8 full weeks in order to receive all the nutrients they need before they are ready to be adopted out.

I've fostered many and it's a joy! Your cat is a ready food-bank, if you will , for some kittens that are orphaned at the kill shelter. What a joy!!

kittens shouldn't be given away toooo early. they should be 5-8 weeks ..
mommy cat might keep producing milk a bit longer unless she is given a break.
its okay mommy cat will eventually be fine ,
some humans use to opt not to nurse - they thought it was for the sake of their appearance.
they will be fine.

then again the kittens nursing for too long is bad too.
they need to get off mummy so they can grow up and mummy cat can get well.

ur cat need a antibiotics now because u have give kittens a way be for her milk dry up she will get milk infection if not treat it she will die u will have to get to a vet now if u dont do as i say it will be to late i have to there there with women down the road i help with the s, pca and she did the same as uu should have left one with her on till mik dry up u thick that nean u took her kittens to young if the like of u that really pee me off u dont think what the out come for ma and kittens

I really really hope that you had these kittens for at least 8 weeks and let them drink her milk until they were 5 weeks old, if not, they're most likely going to die.

She will dry up within a week or so. Just keep her inside so she can't get pregnant again, and when her milk is gone take her in to be spayed.
