Why does my cat (6 months) constantly whine ?
My cat or kitten (at what age are they considered cats and not kittens anymore?) is constantly whining. She doesn't just come and cuddles, she comes, whines and whines and rubs herself on me. Then when I pet her she's fine. I understand that baby kittens do that and she thinks I'm her mommy, but when does it stop or get less ?
My husband is a Police Officer working nights and sleeping during the day, so it's awfully annoying to him and I don't know how to make her stop. Oh, and is it normal that she could eat like every 3 hours if I'd let her ???
Thanks for your advice !!!!!

Have you had her spayed? You're describing exactly how they act when they're in heat. She's at the proper age for that to begin, too. If you haven't had her spayed, do it ASAP. You'll all be much happier and she will stop with the whining.
Cats like to eat little & often. Some cats are more vocal than others however, from 6 months, she can come into season. They usually get very friendly & constantly rub & whine. Have a look to see if her vagina is a little swollen. Otherwise, she may just be a very friendly, loving cat.
Six months is time for baby girl kitties to go into heat! its loud and horribly annoying meowing and constant rubbing and she will stop, but it will happen again. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Is she spayed? Cats will do that when they are in heat.
Is it a siamese? They are BIG whiners.
