My kitty seems to be sick, any help?
Mkay so 4 months ago I got a 1 &1/2 year old female Colico/Tabby mixed cat. She has adjusted well to being in my house.

Recently she's had an upset tummy. Her only symptom is diarrhea. I've asked some vets and I was told to give her some kaopectate, it worked for a bit. But then it came back so I gave her the next thing I was suggested, Gastro vet wet food for cats. That too worked for a bit, but once again it's come back. It's not to sever. It's just a little odd. The only thing I can see that might be causing this is that she likes to eat the bird seed that my birds drop on the floor. I mean it's affected my dogs like that, they've had diarrhea from eating the bird seed. So maybe it's that. I just want to seek another opinion. Thanks.
I once had a cat with this problem. After taking him to the vet and spending tons of money on tests, we finally figured out the cat simply needed more fiber in his diet. Really! The vet recommended I start reading the ingredients and nutrition labels on cat food and pick one with higher than normal fiber content. I went to the feed store and picked a good quality food with high fiber, and within a week the diarrhea problem was gone. It would only come back if I ran out of the high fiber food and fed the cat something else. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Of course, this may not necessarily be the case with your cat, so you would still be wise to take him to the vet to make sure he's not really sick. But, as silly as it sounds, the high-fiber cat food diet worked for my cat. If you suspect the bird seed is causing the problem, definitely try to keep it cleaned up more often so the cat cannot eat it off the floor.

Good luck, I hope this helps =^.^=

Bring her to the vet and bring a stool sample. She may have giardia or coccidia or any number of parasites. Also be sure you're giving her a good quality food like Authority from Petsmart, including the canned.

I don't think the bird seed would do it. Good luck to you!
