My cat throws up in the morning ...?
On Saturday, 9/4/10, we took my cat to the vet because she was developing scratches and sores above her eyes. They told us she had allergies, and gave her 2 shots (1 antibiotic, and 1 steroids) and gave us a medicine and told us to give her 1 CC every 8 hours. I cant remember what the medicine is called, but it is in a large seringe type tube, with a round thing at the top to see how many CC we are giving her.
Tuesday morning, 9/7/10, I wake up and she throws up. She was finished throwing up after about 3 times. I called the vet and they told me to stop giving her the medicine (which we did stop) and to keep her in the room, with no water and no food. In about an hour if she is better, give her water, and then a few hours later give her a soft food, like a boiled piece of chicken or a can of tuna. Well, I gave her the water after about 1.5 hours of no throwing up, and then I had to leave. When I got home, she still hadnt thrown up so I gave her some of her cat food as always. She seemed fine yesterday, and then this morning, I woke up and she started throwing up again. Same ammount as last time. This time, instead of giving her the cat food, I boiled a piece of chicken to see if she would be okay with that. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
She is a little over 2 years old, and we feed her Nutro Cat food, which is an all natural brand, it has no corn in it. We have had her on the same food since we got her at 9 months old.
Both time of throwing up, she threw up before I gave her any food at all. Both times were in the morning. The throw up is like a brown paste, it doesnt appear to have any hair in it (she usually doesnt clean herself that much) or bugs or anything in it that I could recognize.
Does anyone know why she is throwing up and only in the mornings? I would take her to the Vet, but I have no money to do so until 9/17/10.: (
Thanks in advance for your help!

answer: It's possible she's having nausea due to the steroids or the antibiotic, on top of the allergy .
See if you can find some "allergy free" cat food. Nutro is really good stuff, but the simplest way to address allergies (if they're to food, which tearing herself up scratching often indicates) is to feed them a weird food they've never had before, and thus have not had a chance to develop an allergy to.

PetFoodDirect.com has some venison and pea and duck and pea canned food. Just go to their site and search "allergy free food" and it should come up. In the meantime stick with the chicken.
Hang in there. When the meds are out of her system, she'll probably stop throwing up.
Feel free to email me if you have questions. Best of luck to you.
I think she may have caught something, you should take her into the vet asap !
You can't have a poor cat throwing up and just watch it, im sure the vet will let you pay next time if you just talk to him, or just leave some money now and pay the rest later.
