Found a baby bird. NEED HELP QUICK!?
i found a baby bird outside that fell out of its nest. it seems so helpless. is there anything that can be done to save it?
answer:
Just leave it, I know it sounds cruel.. but that is really the best thing you can do. Most wild birds are kicked out of their nest when they are REALLY young and usually featherless, and some actually live on the ground. Picking it up and bringing it home will do more harm than good. If it is really young, then you don't have the proper tools to feed it the special nutrients, and keep it warm. Plus baby birds need to be feed with special utenils to get the food down their crop. If you take the cutie to the vet they will probably just laigh at you (no offense) they dont have time for wld birds. Especially vets that aren't certified avian vets. So please just leave the poor guy.

@Que Quowle: It's a myth that they can smell the "human". Birds actually smell very poorly. I once had a baby bird that I needed to take in, because he had a broken wing. After helping him, I made the little guy a make-shift nest and put him outside. Within fifteen minutes there were two birds flying back and forth feeding this little bird. Whether they were the real parens or adoptive parents I have know clue, but my "scent" had no affect, and the bird had been in my house for days.
Yes there is.
You leave it alone.
At this time of year the young birds have just learned to fly and have left the nest. The parents still keep an eye on the chicks and feed them a bit although the chicks are learning to feed themselves. As soon as you go away the parents will return to the chick.
If you interfere the parents will abandon the chick and it will die.
If you take the chick, however well meaning, it will also probably die.
The best thing to do is leave it alone.
Yes. If it's uninjured, don't touch it. Get a small blanke (that does not smell)t, and a ladder, and pick the baby up using the blanket and put it back in the nest. If the bird is injured, put it in a cardboard box with a blanket and some water and take it to an animal hospital.
DONT TOUCH IT! the mother bird will smell the "human" and probably abandon it.

if you have a plastic shovel (not too sharp), gloves, and a cardboard box (shoe box) try to scoop it GENTLY in with as little contact as possible. try to collect insects, worms, bread, and/or any small nuts you have depending how small, it might not be able to eat these things (just think, the mothers usually regurgitate food for them) so if anything i suggest the bread in very ytiny pieces (again try to break with gloves on). Dont do any of thise till you give the mother some time to come back, she might be able to take care of it. put some soft grass and leaves/flowers/weeds in the box to keep it warm and in its natural habitat. dont stick around it constantly, watch from a distance, the mom will not approach if you are right there. call your local vet and ask them more advice.
if you can, with your gloves move the bird back to the nest but do not move if injured, injury WILL worsen.
dont be discouraged if it ends up not making it, i know its hard but at least you tried and werent the many people who would've just left it there or tortured it.... ive seen and its terrible. but the attempt itself is rewarding :D pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

ive rescued or attempted to rescue MANY animals...a squirrel stuck in a tree with its neck caught (yes i touched it but it wasnt a baby), newborn baby squirrels knockd out of a tree during a storm in a puddle of water, newborn stray kittens who couldnt see, a lost baby possum stuck in the fence scared by my dog, a cat that found its way into my garage somehow -__- lol, a bird who built a nest in my bbq -___- lol nice surprise in summer to open up to 3 eggs that we got to watch hatch and grow up :D we kinda got rid of that bbq haha
I remember finding 1 and it had a injured wing so we put it in a shoe boy either hey (with the lid off) and gave it worms and let it free one day
Maybe if you no were it's beast is you can put it back
Is it at all injured seriously? if not, gently take it inside and put it in a padded shoebox. Or call animal control or your local shelter!

Best of luck
put it back in the nest? or if not possible, ask animal control for their opinion
