Has anyone ever cut there bird's wing's before ,how easy is it?
answer: I've clipped the wings of birds I own however, the birds I clip right now are birds I wouldn't do myself---I have the vet do it. I'm not a person who can hold a struggling bird while I clip the wing w sharp scissors. If you have never done it and if you don't have any knowledge of bird anatomy or bird feathers I would think you should have a vet do it, you watch & learn.
You need to be able to tell a blood feather fr a feather that's already completely grown in---that is, the blood vein that was nourishing the feather has receded/dried & cannot be cut open while trimming the feather. Clipping a blood feather can often cause enough bleeding that the bird will die fr exsaguination unless you act quickly to pull the feather out completely & you need needle-nosed plyers or something similar to do that. Also, you can try a cosmetically pleasing clip or a hack job. A vet will know (& can show you) how to clip the wing leaving several long flight feathers so that when the wing is closed you can't tell it's been clipped.

You don't mention what type of bird you are considering clipping. If it's a small bird and you have someone to help, one holds, one, clips you could prob do it. There are youtube videos of parrot-types getting their feathers trimmed that you should watch before attempting it. Just be sure you don't cut a blood feather---it can bleed like an open artery! Best of luck.

it's hard, good luck, ecspessialy if its a parrot. Wear gloves, and try lifting the birds wings and play with them before you clip them just to see how comfterable he is with it. good luck!
