ok im in a hurry my bird just got hurt by my dog most of the feathers on his back are missing hes bleeding but hes breathing help please

The first thing to do is to put some hydrogen peroxcide and clean the wounds....once you have done this pour alcohol over the wounds.....then apply some type of first aid creme....if the bird has lost a lot of blood you might put it in a spot that is warm....put a light on a small cage and make sure that the bird can get away from the light if it so desires....I had a bird get taken down by a hawk....when he cam hobblying back home he had holes in his back where the hawk had eaten on him.....I treated him like I described above and he healed nicely....I have amputated legs and toes in order to save a bird...the pigeon is a very tough bird and it takes a lot to put them down......your bird will be OK....

Do not try to treat it right away. Put it someplace quiet and with gentle lighting for at least an hour. Then try to clean its wound, slowly and gently. Make sure it has water. The best thing would be to take it to a vet, but I'm guessing you can't do that for some reason.

Keep the bird quiet and warm and leave him alone for awhile. If he survives the first few hours, clean the wound carefully and ask the vet how to treat it or go in for an appointment.
