What could be wrong with our chick?
I know I posted this twice, but I really need an answer.
We got 25 chicks shipped to us 2 days ago. They all seemed to be doing fine until now.
A couple of them have pasty butt, but only one of them seems to be having bigger problems.
He is breathing hard and fast, and seems extremely lethargic. He is much smaller than the other chicks. He also makes a lot of noise occasionally. He sits up and spreads his little wings and chirps very loudly. He is currently sleeping in the corner, breathing hard and I'm scared he will die very soon.
What should I do?
I tried cleaning his butt so that it wasn't crusted up but didn't completely do it because he was chirping so loud and I felt so bad for making him cold. I think his butt is fairly clean now though.
Any advice?

He can barely stand up now. I tried to bring food to him, but he won't even open his eyes.
answer:
We had a chick with a blood sac on his bottom when he hatched out. He was ok in the end. If he is chirping very loudly it means he is in pain.. not much you can do with the chick. although it is horrible you need to let nature take its course..
if he is the youngest then i think that he will die because he does not have him mother pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

chick's should be with there mother for about a year
are they all in one space? they probably need more room. if it seems to be getting worse and worse call a avian vet to ask what could be wrong. i would say try to clean it all the way. and maybe since you have 25 separate them so that there are 12 and 13 in to separate boxes. also make sure their water is at the opposite end of the box then the heat lamp so they have a dry place to be warm as possible. hope ur little guys get better! hope this helps!

ps. chicks dont need to be with their mother for a year. you can buy them before they hatch or 1 day old.
are you taling about chickens cuz your bird might have fly strike . this may occur cuz the cage it dity or it may have coaught onto from the other birds and hes much too little. fly strike is when a fly
smells the waste of another animal and latches onto the animal mostly around the butt.when it does that the fly lays eggs and maggets start to form everywhere they can burry holes in the the animals flesh i know so much cuz my rabbit had fly strike around on his butt.we did everything we could to save him. you have to wash his butt every 5 hrs to amke sure alllll the maggots are out. putting baking soda helps alot around your chicks butt.then wash agin. do this till you are positive that there are nooo more maggots on him.when you know make sure u keep your chicks in the house till he's got most of his feathers on. then make sure you cleans his cage and there are no flys around.
