This should help you find one that's right for you.
No parrot is guaranteed to be friendly. And a friendly parrot can become unfriendly if it is mishandled or doesn't get enough attention!
I have met many many breeds of parrots & they all had different levels of friendliness & different personalities depending on how they were raised, how their current owners handled them & also individual personalities.
As far as a type of parrot I have heard of as often being very sweet & easier to deal with, Green Cheek Conure, Cockatie, hand raised Lovebird (but not if kept in a pair).

Parrots are only a few generations removed from the wild, so they are not 100% tame. That means they will react instinctively sometimes. All parrots will bite at some point. However if you are a patient and understanding owner, your parrot will love you very much :-)
If you buy a bird from a breeder, most of them are hand raised & are used to being handled. That doesn't mean it'll be a good bird, for you, ntho. I raised parakeets 50yrs ago. I now have an 11yr old African Grey. Hes quite smart & knows what's said & how to reply. He gets into everything, tho..We have to watch him when he's out cos he could eat something that will kill him.We also have an Amazon & a Mini Macaw. We had a Green Cheek Conure & a Sun Conure for 9 yrs. They died last summer when exposed to temperature extremes. Keets & Cockatiels are good birds for the first timer. They are reasonably priced & have life spans from 7-15yrs Conures can be a one person bird & will attack all but the person who spends the most time with them
