Help, Nonstop Screeching Cockatiels?
I have two cockatiels and one of them will just not be stop screeching.
I've cleaned the caged, food, water.
I've purchased NEW food of a different brand and kind.
I've rearranged the cage.
I've moved the cage to a different area.
I don't know what to do.
I've turned the tv on.
I've placed music on.
He just won't shut up.
I can't take it. He's so loud and I'm not sure how he can do it all day.
What can I do to make him be quiet?
He has toys. He has a nest box that he doesn't use. He has a mate.
Is there anything I can do to make him be quiet?
Thank you in advance for your help.
answer: Go to youtube and search cockatiel sounds. This will help release his pent up energy. Allow him to have a playlist with all kinds of proper uses for his shreiking. He may lean a few new tunes like Andy Griffith if he hears it over & over from another tiel. This works great when my 5 tiels are acting unruly.
Birds make a lot of noise, that's pretty much what they do. Just like people, they like to 'talk'. We talk all day too, right? Some birds are noisier than others, he may just be that one. Has he been doing it since you got him or is it something new? If this is something new then he may be trying to talk his girlfriend into mating. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
It is hard to make a bird be quiet if they want to make noise. Try not to give him any attention if he is making noise as this will only make him do it more to get the attention.
