what are all the nesting materials that can be given to a ze

  please help me

my finch has finished building the nest but it is not laying the eggs

so do i need to give some more building materials
The best nesting material for Zebra Finches is short pieces of hay, there is no need to supply anything else and please do not use any man made fibres or pieces of wool, cotton wool etc.

More often than not they will not line the nest so hay is ample.
Some people say to use pet fur/hair as nesting supplies but i wouldnt recomend it .. i was told from a close family vet friend to use my dogs fur cause its soft so i did .. a day or 2 later it was tightly wrapped around my finches leg and he later lost his foot (but is perfectly fine now) so DONT use pet fur of any kind

mine likes shredded up tissues, natural coconut fibers, moss and bedding fluff that u can buy in the pet stores

also DONT use dryer lint (too many chemicles)
I would start with short pieces of straw or hay, two to three inches long. When the nest is almost complete I would add some grasses so they can line the nest.
Pieces of hay is what I gve them along with the store bought finch nests they do good with them.
