can a 3 year old Alexandrian parakeet be taught to talk and

i dont no anything about them but am interested in buying this 3 year old.
Alexandrines are easier than Indian ringnecks and at 3 is not too old for anything. Go for it. They are not only beautiful and unusual but great pets when you get them where you want them. One of my favorites.
It would all depend on the history of the bird, if it can't talk already and isn't tame then you may have a real job teaching it to do either, especially the hand tame situation. I'd definitely learn a lot more about them before considering it as they can be a real handful and quite noisy!

I got an amazon parrot at four years old, he's learnt a few words since then and is definitely tamer but i don't think he'll ever be hand tame because of his past. Same would probably apply to most birds i'd reckon if they've never been handled before .. hope this helps a bit, Good luck!:)
You mean too old? I do not think so but this species is not easy to tame and must be handled daily, every day to keep them tame. I would recommend you buy a hand feed and hand raised bird such as a cockatiel or other parrot. It will love you on sight and be your friend. The Alexandrian is not a good bird for you. Unless you just want to look at him/her. Why not Google the breed and read?
actually you have to do your research first before you want to buy a bird. it is very hard to take care off. u need to buy the perfect size of cage and suitable toys. plus, you have to give them as many attention as you can each day. so you need to think twice if you want to be an owner of a bird.and you can search websites about Alexandrian parakeet on the internet . hope this helped. Best of luck to you:)
