This can't be normal.
If you live near a city, an industrial park, or a subdivision with a heated pond these birds are not going anywhere except to feed locally. They are not migrating, but have found a good place to stay year around. We have tons of Canada geese near us all the time.
Canadian Geese I'll bet. They're probably just homesick.
