and which is better for a 1st time owner?
its going to be a family pet. my parents r experienced
we can afford either one (i know its a big difference.)
i go to school.
i have 2 sisters (im 14 my sisters 10, and another 3)
i know theres a lifespan diffenece too.
ive done TONS of research and im not even kidding. ive practically run out of books and sites!!!

Sun conure is louder, african greys are more mumblers than screamers. But ... with that being said, if your looking for a family pet and can handle the noise, I would go for the sun not the grey . Greys are notoriously 1 person birds (most birds are, but w/greys, it is almost expected). If that little 3 year old just went walking by the cage, and the grey didn't like her, there is a good possibility of it attacking. Now this can happen w/suns or any other bird, but not as likely to do as much acting out, more likely to just ignore the ones they don't like. It is a personal decision and no one on here can tell you what you must get, we can only give you are advise and personal experiences, good luck they are both very beautiful birds w/lots of good and bad qualities.
