is metal toxic to parakeets?

i made my parakeet some toys with plastic beads and stars, and put some bells and colorful metal rings on them ... is the metal bad???
Most metals are toxic to almost all living organisms, absorbtion through the skin is often very slow or doesn't occur in any significant amount, putting it in its mouth is much more dangerous

The smaller an animal is, the less metal is needed to be toxic enough to affect it, so avoid giving animals metal toys

I could clarify more on most metals and animals, but it's irrelevant, don't give small children or animals any metals
I have read that zinc and lead are toxic to parakeets, but nickel is supposed to be safe. From what i understand, of all the toys at the pet shop, all the little bells are made of nickel. I have only had my birds for about 5 months, but they have brass, nickel and stainless in their cage and i have had no problems thus far .
I've just now read zinc, lead, brass, and nickel are all toxic to parakeets.

Rust is also toxic to them ......... Stainless steel is safe.

Steel is attracted to a magnet, so I would remove anything metal that

isn't attracted to a magnet. ...... It says plastic is safe, though I still wonder

if there are different sorts of plastic. It does say PCV is safe ..... I'm reading from a couple of different websites.
