Question about my budgies and stuff?

So i go to school for the normal hours 9 am till 3 pm from Monday to Friday, i have two budgies and two cats. Obviously this mix doesn't work so when i am out at school should i close the door? And i have no stand for the cage, also i have a shelf in my room should i clear that and put the cage on that or do you think it will be to high?
Yes. Keep the budgies out of the cats way. Do not keep your birds cage on the floor. If your apartment has roaches or waterbugs they could get into the cage and eat the seeds.

To start it sounds like it would be good to keep the cage on the shelf .. Make sure the shelf is strong enough to support the weight of the cage. Also make sure the cage is in a room with a reasonable amount of soft daylight during the day. You want your birds to be comfortable, not too hot and not too cold. Don't put the cage in direct sunlight and make sure there isn't any draft.

Birds tend to scatter the seed hulls when they eat or flap their wings so keep the shelf and the floor clean everyday. You don't want insects coming around the birds cage and food.

I don't know what kind of cage you have but it will be great for you and your birds if you save up and buy them a cage that has plenty of room for them to move around. Supply perches at different heights and change food and water daily.

I do not recommend letting the cats play in the same room if the birds are out of their cage. If a cat bites a bird it will die since there is something in cat saliva that is deadly to birds.

give your budgies enough toys and a nice spot and they'll be happy while you're at school but be sure to spend some time with them when you get home. They are very sociable and love to have their owners around.
