Birds as pet are wonderful companions. One or two birds will make a good ideal companion. If they are large they will even speak and alert you if strangers come. They will also breed and have a few clutches every year and earn you some money also .
i like pigeons for i have raised them over fifty years now and i made some good money also. i have two breeds of ducks and raise chickens to sell and eat last summer i sold over two hundred chickens and fifty turkeys and have five breeds of Bantams have three white face herefords miniature two cows and a bull. would have some others but am disabled
Some folks think we are currently living in the Age of Insects. If true, thank God for birds. That said, I live in Texas where the mockingbird is the state bird. They are plentiful in my area of the state and insects and spiders make up nearly 100% of their diet. Nothing like a full and happy singing bird to start your day, or wind it up. If you've never heard one sing you should add it to your bucket list.
I like birds very much. Some think birds are trouble some but they are really sweet and intelligent.

I grow two pairs of african macaws, they all are very intelligent. It is indeed great to grow birds
I like birds, but I wouldn't want one for a pet cause they are to loud for me.I love wild birds , they are very pretty.They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO smart!!!! they're outstanding creatures.
As much as my family, I adore birds, what beautiful animals they are.
