I went to pet Smart like 2 moths ago and i was looking at the green cheek conure and the guy took him out and i held him. But he was biting me not hard at all. He his hand tamed i just want to know why he was biting me i want to get him but idk if that means he dont like me or what can soemone help me
It doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't like you. The more likely case is it is sick of all these different people coming and trying to play w/it, most w/probably no bird experience at all, and hurting it and irritating it, so it is starting to stand up for itself. In any case what ever the reason I wouldn't advise getting one from petsmart or any other petstore. I am guessing that little itty bitty green cheek was probably anywhere from 350-450 dollars. You can go to a breeder where you can see where it was brought up, and who it was brought up w/. It will be much more likely to be people friendly and probably much more healthy. And it will cost any where from 75-150 dollars (depending on area that you live in and color variation). If you do intend on getting a bird , I would also suggest putting a wanted ad on craigslist for a used cage. The cage my sun conure is in would have cost about 400 dollars in a petstore, I got it used off of craigslist in perfect condition for 100 dollars and it is big enough for a african grey or amazon. Sorry probably not what you were looking for in an answer, but I just hate for people to spend all that money when it isn't necessary
