Sun conure should he be in a cage?

Yes he can fly and I want to cut his feathers but he give me a look a sad look i am think should i get a cage for him instead i don't want him stuck in it all the time he dose fly feely outside in my greenhouse but still the last time he got loose i had to climb a tree to get hime down.
Yes, I agree with Cynthia. Your bird needs a place to call her own. Also, please have a professional clip her wings and toe nails too. You don't have to keep your bird locked in the cage all the time. (Please don't!) It's all up to you. Best wishes and good luck
My sun conure has her own cage and stays out of the cage most of the day. I think unless your sun conure is well trained and even then its a risk, that it should have its wings clipped by a professional. Not only can you lose them, but they can get hurt. Mine flies however, but that is a decision I made based on her training and my location. She flies to me, knows the house well, and where her cage is. Remember clipping isn't permanent. While your sun conure's wings are clipped you can train the bird. Teach it to walk to you by offering a treat and say its name. Try potty training. Gradually while the wings are growing out you will have taught the sun conure many things. Then when his wings are grown out you can make a decision on whether to clip again. I did and by the time my conures wings had grown out she really prefered to just sit with me or fly to her cage anyway. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

As for getting a cage, yes it is needed for sleeping, also helpful for training and time out. The bird also must learn to play by itself and that is best done in a cage most of the time. An outdoor aviary setup is most useful for people that are breeders and those that do not want to keep them as pet companions. Sun conures are companion type birds and love interaction with people all time time-and sometimes too much of the time. Don't worry about the bird missing flying because if you have his wings cut and he gets to spend lots of time with you playing, watching tv, and cuddling, he won't miss the flying at all.
Yes, definitely. All birds need a cage. You don 't have to keep him trapped in it. Just give him a little place of his own. That is very important, especially during the night. It would keep him safe and help with his night routines, which would keep him healthier!:)
