EMERGENCEY!!! What Can I Do?

A bird flew into our window and broke his foot. We cant catch him to take him to the vet. How can we help him?
If animal control or the humane society won't come out for it there may not be much you can do. A wildlife rehab facility should be able to help with the best information or they may help.

I have a pigeon (legal in my state) that messed up his foot and has been with me for over 8 years now. He was vet checked & is in great health except for his foot. I certainly don't recommend keeping any wild bird or animal but it worked out for him and me.

As I feed some birds I have seen many with bad feet do okay. One thing i'd like to suggest is that if you do catch it you shoud wear gloves & handle as little as possible. Keep it warm and in a small dark box with air holes & take to a vet you know will see it. Keep it away from all other animals as it may have mites or something another animal could catch. Plus another animal could cause it too much stress. It's great of you to want to help.
If it only broke a foot it can still fly and land on one foot. You should not be able to catch it so leave it to Nature.
Either take them to the VET .. But since you can't do them,

Take them to the ASCPA quickly.
Call animal control or the SPCA. They should come to your house and catch it for you and take care of it.
