Troubles with my Congo African grey.?
So my parrot is very picky when eats he usually just eats peanuts and sunflower seeds he is also underweight due to this problem and am very worried. Also he won't let anyone touch him and he won't talk very often he would talk before his original owner past. Is the passing of his owner caused this and he's also aggressive he bites anyone who tries to touch him. Any tips would help and thank you.
a good weight maintenance food is roudybush I use for my grey and conure they seem to love it, you can get it at petsmart. I would work very slowly with him/her slowly start to give some of her favorite treat to her by hand and praise when she takes it, this may help. i have not had problems with my grey he came socialized so i am not really sure.I did have some problems with my conure and i use a site called www.birdtricks.com it has free videos to help with they most common bird problems.

you also need to build a bond with bird they get stressed very easily so you as new owner it will take time for him or her to trust you.
the passing of his human could definitely cause emotional stress.
as for tips, try introducing him to as many different foods as possible to see what he will eat. encourage him to eat "proper" food such as seed or pellets by putting them right next to his favourite perch or maybe mixing it with some peanuts and sunflower seeds. work with him slowly to tame him, dont move so close that he feels the need to bite (if he is biting, you are doing something that makes him scared or angry, therefore breaking trust) and build up closer and closer, day by day :). keep in mind that some animals simply just dont like humans very much and wont ever really be friendly, just as some humans have no real interest in birds.
