We bought 2 sussex at point of lay in the spring - one has always had a dirty bottom - the other had it for a while too but it cleared up after verm-x treatment. Just before we started verm-x the one with the dirty bottom stopped laying - she still isnt laying.
Now the one with the dirty bottom all along is looking poorly - floppy crest etc. Although shes pecking around with the other perkyly enoughg ...
3rd verm-x treatment this weekend (3 months). Any other suggestions as to what we might do to treat this?
Hens are known for 'dirty bottoms'. But as yours isn't looking too good, I would suggest you took it to the vet, one that knows about birds preferably.
