I have got two cockatiels and five budgies they all one big happy family and I keep them in the garden like from 7am-3pm in their big cage when the weather is ok and I take in around after school.When I look at them they always chirpsing and happy.
Am I doing a wrong thing?
If they have a safe, secure cage with shade and everything they need and they are active and happy then you are not doing anything wrong at all. It is sensible to bring them in before night as you do.
As long as you make sure that the cage doors are tightly secured and no cat or any other predator can harm them, then they are fine. I keep my budgies cage in garden for an hour everyday and I also cover 1/4 of the top part of cage with a towel because budgies love to nap in the afternoon and if they prefer a shade they can choose that covered area ..
I have got budgies I leave the cage outside to put I padlock the cage and leave them there for till about 3pm my parents look after them when I go uni.Its amazing what your doing as it makes the birds so happy.When I take them outside they make so much noise I assume they are over excited.
